Happy Lunar New Year! Happy Month of Love!

Happy Lunar New Year 2022!

For all my astrological freaks, spiritual warriors, or those who live and die by the synodic calendar; happy Aquarius New Moon! The official beginning to the year of the Tiger. Roar. May this super-charged transition into a new astrological year bring you many blessings and abundant new beginnings. Welcome also, the month of love. Be warned: Eros is somewhere in the ethos, mischievously toying with his bow, ready to aim and fire at the hearts of unsuspecting humans below. You never know who he’s going to hit next. In the spirit of February, the month of love:

“Love is like a tree: It grows by itself, roots itself deeply in our being, and continues to flourish over a heart in ruin.
The inexplicable fact is that the blinder it is, the more tenacious it is.
It is never stronger than when it is completely unreasonable.”

Define Love

If someone asked me what “love” is
I’d reply, “Love is beauty, love is pain.”
It cannot be contained, the definition, unconditional
Then, I’d quote Corinthians, “Love is patient…love is kind….”
Love is everywhere, yet hard to find.
It isn’t proud or selfish.
Love is selfless
It’s acceptance
Love is ever present
And for some it means forever
Others just moment in time…
There is love in every hello
And in every goodbye….

CORINTHIANS 13

If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels

But have not love, I am only a resounding gong

If I have the gift of prophecy

Can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge

And if I have a faith that can move mountains

But have not love, I am nothing

If I give all I possess to the poor

And surrender my body to the flames

But have not love, I gain nothing

Love is patient, love is kind

It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud

It is not rude, it is not self-seeking

It is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs

Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth

It always protects, always trusts

Always hopes, always perseveres…

Love never fails.

But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.

For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears.

When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me.

For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

And now these three remain: faith, hope and love.

But the greatest of these is love.
