Natalie
Nascenzi

Aloha, I’m Nat! Poet. Author. Copywriter. Vagabond.
The list goes on and on. Based in Manhattan, part-time Rhode Islander. I live by a simple set of rules: Trust God, keep it real, be kind, and JUST GO FOR IT!

  • I was born and raised in a small beach town on the coast of beautiful Rhode Island. Growing up, my time was split between the beach and working full-time as a waitress at local restaurants. (We all gotta start somewhere, am I right?)

In 2017, I moved to New York City to pursue a career in creative advertising as a writer.

After I moved and began my job, I started a weight loss journey; losing over 85 pounds in less than 8 months. My new life brought many blessings, but they came with unforeseen consequences…anxiety, depression, and loss of self. My journey with mental health was difficult, but with faith and persistence, I was able to heal through poetry–using it to express my emotions, understand my mind, and gain new perspective.

Words are a beautiful music and when used to express one’s emotions, they become a powerful symphony.

I wanted to connect with others by using the power of words to define the emotions that are not easily expressed, and spread the message: You are never alone.

As time went on, I started performing around NYC at open mics and began the process of publishing my first collection, Out of Chaos. This is where my journey with readers begins. As Out of Chaos made its way into the world, I continued to share my writing with a mission: to inspire positive transformation and spread hope, one person at a time.

Living in NYC during the pandemic brought on an entirely new challenge. The story continued with my readers into my second collection/novella, The Aftermath of Unrest.

Along the way, my poems have been featured across the world in anthologies and independent publications. I dove into the world of poetry & performance, as the poetic host of HXS Colorblind and XYZ, and the poetic MC of Asia Initiatives International Virtual Gala. After three years of beautiful opportunities and wonderful connections, my poetic quest came to a close in my last poetry collection, Isle of Skye.

The year following the release of Isle of Skye, I left America for the first time to travel to Portugal and Italy.

The goal was to write a novel about my poetic adventure whilst seeing the world. Three weeks in Europe turned into three months… and I never looked back. I spent the year traveling the world and finally published my first novel, “Roses” in May 2023.

After the release of Roses, I traveled to Morocco to complete one very important mission: Ride stallions on the beach. This once-in-a-lifetime bucket list mission led to the glorious realization that I’d finally found my home away from home and a passion for riding was ignited, along with new a path.

Where I am now and what’s next? Back in America, doing what I do best…hanging out with my dog and writing about my life as I live it.

Though I’m always unsure what my future holds, I am absolutely certain of one thing…life rarely goes as planned, but we’ll always end up exactly where we are meant to be so long as we follow our dreams.

Out of Chaos

Out of Chaos is a unique collection of poetry that combines the art of storytelling with personal reflection to explore the on going battle of the mind. This story of mental health will take you on a personal journey from start to finish. The author uses metaphors, traditional rhyme flow, alliteration, and assonance to paint a descriptive picture of each emotional topic–doubt, insecurity, duality, loneliness, hope, and the human connection. Each poem is different, but together, they complete an entire journey that encapsulates the single message: out of chaos, there is change.

The Aftermath of Unrest

The Aftermath of Unrest is a one-of-a-kind poetry collection/novella. Through a combination of poems, paintings, and short stories; it takes readers on a journey through passing time, the battle of the mind, the lessons of life and finding balance in the chaos of reality. This incredible and true story is captivating from cover to cover and encapsulates the message: Anything is possible, anyone is capable, and even in the darkest of times, there is hope. The reader is guided through the author's personal experience as she describes her serendipitous experiences before and during the pandemic in New York City.
